Owner-side program management is not filling a seat on an org chart. It is accountable delivery leadership inside the operating rhythm the capital program already runs — gate reviews, vendor milestones, change directives, executive readouts.

Not staff augmentation

Staff augmentation sends a resource to execute tasks defined by someone else. Owner-side PM defines the plan of record, challenges contractor schedules against gate criteria, and carries accountability for what the executive team will be asked to approve. The distinction matters when commissioning compresses and someone must decide which open NCR chain blocks which permit.

Not contractor-side coordination

Contractor-side PM optimizes delivery of the contractor's scope. Owner-side PM optimizes the program outcome — scope, cost, schedule, and design implications across vendors. The same title on opposite sides of the table is not the same job.

What embedded looks like

Embedded means attending the meetings that matter, maintaining registers the executive team trusts, and writing gate packets that name open decisions with owners and dates. At Northvolt and Tesla, that meant scaling design organizations while sustaining $175M+ of concurrent delivery. At Redwood, it means BESS deployments where customer-technical interfaces and permitting strategy must stay aligned across concurrent sites.

HaiBuilt program management engagements are scoped with Jon Haider embedded personally — no analyst layer on core delivery.
